Hazelnut farm in Alta Langa

 "Tonda gentile trilobata" is the variety of hazelut grown in Piedmont, mainly in the provinces of Cuneo, Asti and Alessandria. But it is Cuneo to hold the record, in particular the hills of the Langhe taht with about 7000 hectares covers 90% of regional production.

The Langhe, located in the south of Piedmont and bordering on Liguria, are divided into:

- low Langa: with altitudes that do not exceed 600 meters and where the wine activity is most concentraded.

- Upper Langa: a wooded area with higher altitudes where the hazelnut finds its maximum expression.

And it is here that our company has its headquarters: in the town of Arguello (661m) where we own most of hazelnuts and in Cerretto Langhe (687m) where we process the product.

The economy of these small municipalities is mainly agricultural and hazelnut is the queen of these lands. The tourism sector has also been developing in recent years: many tourists are acctratted by our areas not only to enjoy a relaxing holidy but above all to live experiences to discover our territory and this exceptional fruit.

The territory of Alta Langa has a mild and ventilated climate perfect for the cultivation of hazel, a plant that fears excessive heat and cold and that on these hills finds its ideal habitat thanks to the sea breezes from Liguria and a fresh soil not too clayey, factors that enable us to achieve an axcellent product.

The fruit is distinguished by a homogeneous size and a thin shell ensuring a high yield to shelling, an high natural peelability and an intense, harmonious and persistent flavor enhanced especially during roasting. It has a good shelf life and high nutritional value to modulate the sense of satiety.

The exceptional aromatic profile and the extraordinary fragrance make our hazelnut suitable for both sweet and savoury preparations.

Recent medical studies have shown that this fruit enjoys excellent health properties. Hazelnuts have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and its regular consumption is associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
